Corporate Finance Director
Location: Cardiff

Experience

• Professional Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/CF qualified or equivalent, with 5+ years of M&A/corporate finance experience.
• Execution Expertise: Proven track record of leading successful sell-side and buy-side transactions to include:
• Acquisitions
• Disposals
• Management Buyouts
• Employee Ownership Trusts
• Debt raising
• Equity investment
Your expertise will include having:
• Ability to analyse M&A mandate requirements and advise on viable deal options.
• Extensive knowledge of transaction types
• Leadership Ability: Strong people management skills, with experience mentoring junior staff and leading teams.
• Commercial Acumen: Ability to originate deals, grow client relationships, and act entrepreneurially.
• Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling, valuation, and presentation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Corporate Finance role in delivery of M&A projects across buy-side, sell-side and debt and equity raising mandates.
• Deal Leadership: Autonomously manage M&A transactions end-to-end, including origination, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
• Client Advisory: Provide strategic advice on acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts, fundraising, and other corporate finance matters.
• Financial Analysis: Oversee valuation, modelling, and due diligence work, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
• Targets and billing: Drive achievement of billing targets and key performance indicators.
• Business Development: Build and expand client relationships, lead pitches, and contribute to firm growth.
• Professional network – maintain and develop a network of contacts across key financial sector contacts across M&A funders, private equity investment and acquirers.
• Cross referral: Interaction with the wider GS Verde and AAB Group and actively seeking opportunity of cross-referral of Group services.
• Team Management: Mentor and develop team members, delegating tasks and reviewing outputs.
• Risk Assessment: Identify risks and opportunities in transactions, advising clients on optimal deal structures.
• Marketing: General promotion, marketing and development of GS Verde Group through networking, event attendance, and Communications contributions.

General Responsibilities

• Working as part of the wider GS Verde Group, establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all senior members of the GS Verde Group, with a view to maximizing Group engagement with end clients across all disciplines.
• Utilize HubSpot and all internal marketing tools to create marketing plans, aligning with senior Group employees from other disciplines to win new work.
• Lead by example and promote the Group values in all interactions with clients and members of staff within the Group.
