The Real Wrap Co, a premium sandwich supplier based in Bristol, has been acquired by UK leading food manufacturer, Samworth Brothers, in a transaction advised on by GS Verde Group.

Established in 2010 by co-founders Phillippe Gill and Jason Howell, The Real Wrap Co. started as a healthy fast-food store in Bristol, providing high-quality, ready-made sandwiches and wraps. The company has grown quickly over the years, expanding to full production of their products at their factory in Avonmouth, employing over 220 staff, and winning huge contracts with airlines and in the NHS. The brand is known for its top-quality, ready-made sandwiches and wraps, recently expanding to 'hot eats', salad and pasta pots, and a new premium range.

Leicester-based Samworth Brothers, is one of the UK's food manufacturing giants, producing chilled and ambient foods for food service providers, coffee shops, and supermarkets. Established in 1896, the company has carved out an impressive share of the market and is behind household-favourite brands like Ginsters, West Cornwall Pasty Co, and Soreen.

Samworth Brothers acquired a stake in The Real Wrap Co. last summer in a multi-million-pound deal, and Samworth's Chief Operating Officer, Paul Davey was appointed to a position on Real Wrap's board alongside founders Philippe and Jason. Samworth Brothers has now purchased the remaining shares of Real Wrap to complete the acquisition. The Real Wrap Co. was advised by GS Verde Group in both transactions.

In a joint statement, Phillippe Gill and Jason Howell said: "We are delighted to be supported by a like-minded partner in Samworth Brothers, to help us continue to do an amazing job for our customers, our people and our planet." (source)

Samworth Brothers Chief Executive, Hugo Mahoney, said: "The Real Wrap Company is a dynamic, innovative young company that shares our values and focus on quality foods. Real Wrap has great future potential, and the capability and scale of Samworth Brothers will help support further development for The Real Wrap Company business." (source)

The transaction will help to grow Samwoth Brothers' convenience foods area of operations, while Real Wrap's board and senior leadership team remain unchanged, continuing to trade as the Real Wrap Co. GS Verde Group was pleased to advise The Real Wrap Co. on the sale to Samworth Brothers, and is proud to support the partnership between two of the UK's largest companies from its burgeoning food manufacturing sector.
